We hear the word love most often in our daily life. Often time we hear words like: I love you, you are the love of my life, you are my love, I love you so very much e.t.c. all these are connected to just one word LOVE.
What is love? The dictionary defines love as :
a very strong feeling, a very strong affection and sexual attraction, a great liking; but, does these really tells us what love really is? I do not think so.
The word love is so very much important to us in our daily life as it affects every aspect of it, it’s no wonder that it appeared two hundred and sixty-four (264) times in the king James vertion of the New Testament. So what just is love?
The love that we are talking about here is AGAPE which means the Gods kind of love which is one of the fruits of the spirit, which is why the bible says that God is love because love is one of the fruits of the holy spirit of God.
IT IS THE LAW
All the laws of our land are obeyed easily it we could just have and show a little more bit of love. Its on wonder Jesus Christ sum up all the laws in the bible into two that is anchored in love:
Thou shall love the lord they God with all they heart and with all they soul and with they might…thou shall love they neighbor as they self. (matt 22:37,39)
On these lie the laws and the prophets. It means that if we all imbibe the spirit of love then the world will be a better place for us, for if I love you I will not rob you or take your wife or hurt you in any way or launder the country’s money.
GOD DID IT FIRST
God is the first to demonstrate love for us even when we do not deserve his love as a result of our sins and unfaithfulness.
But God commandeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.(rom 5:8)
He died to save and to redeem and to save us from the bondage of sin and death. God gave all he had, his only begotten son just because of his love for you and me.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son (john 3:16)
He also gave us the power to become his sons even they that be lives on his name. (John 1:12)
NO FEAR IN LOVE
There is not one fear in love for as the scripture says in ist john 4:18 perfect love drives out all fears; so, if you are fear full or hate full you have not love for he that hates is of the devil. God is the originator of love; so, why don’t you emulate your father by showing some love.
IT GIVES
LOVE is often expressed in giving. God demonstrated his love by giving his only begotten son to die for us. God showed us greater love
Greeter love hath no man than this, that a man lays down his life for his friend.(John 15:13)
My friends its about time we started working in love to move our nation forward for faith, hope, love works together but the greatest is love
